Cambodia Gambling Halls
July 8th, 2020 by Jaiden

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den betting is banned. Eight casinos are established in a generally tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; still, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machine games and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel building that highlights many amenities aside from the gambling hall, which has 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
