Cambodia Gambling Dens
April 7th, 2022 by Jaiden

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den betting is prohibited. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga river boat is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel complex that contains a number of comforts accompanying the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
