Cambodia Gambling Halls
June 22nd, 2022 by Jaiden

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where casino gaming is not legal. Eight casinos are based in a generally small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 17:00, and though visas are allegedly required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is correct of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship casino, contains one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that features a number of luxuries in addition to the gambling hall, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
